Wednesday, September 25, 2013Free Museum Day
This Saturday, more than 1400 museums across the country,
including many throughout the Midwest, will waive admission for the ninth
annual Museum Day Live! Hosted by Smithsonian Magazine this deal includes free
visits to botanical gardens, premier art galleries and local cultural
institutions.
Tickets are limited to one per household -- good for two
people -- and must be presented upon entry for free admission.
For a complete list of participating museums, visit www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday
Each ticket is valid
for entry to one participating museum. If museums reach capacity, they have the
right to limit the number of guests until space becomes available.
Tuesday, September 24, 2013Solo Cruising
Hey Solo Travelers! Have you always wanted to take a cruise
vacation but were turned off by the single passenger surcharge?
The Funships of Carnival Cruise Lines have removed the 200%
single occupancy supplement on a select number of sailings.
With this change, single occupancy bookings made under any
available rate code will be charged 100% of the cruise fare when booking an windowless
and ocean view stateroom. This offer will be capacity controlled and subject to
close at any time without prior notice.

Where in the world is the most visited museum located?

For me my summer ends when school starts back!
Sunday, September 1, 2013New European River Cruise Line Launched!
After years of rumors a new European river cruise line has
launched. Emerald Waterways will be sailing with two 182-passenger ships, the
Emerald Star and Emerald Sky. They’ll sail eight- to 15-day cruises in Europe,
starting April 15.
Each ship will have a heated swimming pool with a
retractable roof; the space transforms into a movie theater in the evening. (NOTE-pools
are rare on river cruises). Reflections will be the main dining room, and the
Terrace will serve breakfast and lunch. Other features are an onboard
hairdresser, massage room and fitness area.
Emerald Waterways is offering four itineraries that sail the
Danube, Rhine and Moselle rivers. Fares include all transfers to and from the
ships; all meals onboard and most meals on shore; unlimited tea and coffee;
wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; bottled water in the cabins;
WiFi onboard the ship; shore excursions; gratuities; and port charges.
I’d look for some great deals on river cruises as companies will
have to compete as more beds come on line. Keeping heads in bed often drive
sales and promotions.
