Happy St. Patricks Day!

Blarney Castle

Here’s an old Irish blessing for you:

“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

Enjoy a pint and a hearty serving of Shepherd’s Pie at the Port City Café and Pub in Portsmouth Ohio. It our area’s only traditional Irish pub!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Outfield Living

The Lansing (MI) Lugnuts a minor league affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays major league baseball club has floated an interesting prospectus about "Apartments in the Outfield."

As a baseball fan I love the idea! A panoramic view from my balcony would be delightful!

A riverfront stadium/apartment complex in Ironton OH? Right on! A great idea!

If not Ironton then I'll settle for Huntington WV!

I just don't want the owners to be able to dictate hot dog and beer prices!

Going solo

One of the phrases solo travelers hate but frequently endure is “Single supplement applies!”

This means you’d better be prepared to pay a substantial additional fee! Yes you’re(me too)  being penalized for traveling alone.

There are countless many of us who travel unaccompanied and a few suppliers are starting to get it. We are a good sized market!

New build NCL ships have cabins specifically designed for the solo cruiser. Other companies are waiving the single supplement on specific cruises and tour departures.

Solo travelers should check with their travel agent for these special deals for the "I am going alone" customer.

Aloha!
