Pocahontas, daughter of the chief of the Powhatan Indian confederacy, marries English tobacco planter John Rolfe in Jamestown, Virginia.

On April 5, 1614 Pocahontas, daughter of the chief of the Powhatan Indian confederacy, marries English tobacco planter John Rolfe in Jamestown, Virginia.

If you haven’t been to this “historic triangle” of Jamestown, Yorktown & Williamsburg it well worth a long week journey.

Be sure to check out both Jamestown attractions -the actual site operated by the National Park service and the “living history” recreation of the settlement.

Both are awesome and educational!
